Eating out is a joy, but it's become increasingly pricier over the past few years and can really put a dent in your bank balance if you're dining as a family. However, if you're keen on cutting costs while still savouring food from your favourite eatery, many now offer supermarket ranges. With that in mind, content editor Rebecca Koncienzcy gave the Las Iguanas products now available at Iceland a whirl. To be completely transparent, she has never set foot in a Las Iguanas, and this experience hasn't exactly made her eager to make a reservation. Las Iguanas boasts scrumptious South American dishes in a relaxed dining environment, but do their frozen versions live up to the hype? The only way to find out was to treat Rebecca's family to a little Mexican-inspired banquet with the range, reports the Express . Here are the products she sampled from the range: You can view the full range by visiting the Iceland website here . The verdict Most of the items have a couple of different methods for cooking and heating them up. Rebecca chose the air fryer where possible, as she favoured it for frozen items and believe it adds extra crunch. The feast looked appetising and Rebecca would say the standout item was the barbecue Pork Enchilada, although it might be a tad sweet for some. But she found the sauce irresistible and the pork was high quality and wonderfully tender. Rebecca could easily envision herself polishing off a whole one for a fantastic midweek meal without all the fuss of making one from scratch. While Rebecca was partial to the Hot Honey Halloumi Bites, they could have done with a bit more spice in the honey for that extra kick, and it's best to eat them immediately before they turn rubbery - but that's halloumi for you. Sadly, that's where Rebecca's recommendations from the products she sampled come to an end. Personally, she found the Fajita Chicken Taco Bites rather tasteless compared to the vibrant South American flavours I'm accustomed to. Rebecca wasn't particularly fond of the Nacho Cheese Chicken Bites either. They felt a tad gimmicky to me, the chicken lacked flavour, the crumb coating needed more seasoning and she completely missed the cheese element. The Honey Peri Peri Wings were passable, but the sauce you're instructed to add post-cooking is far too tangy to be enjoyable, the balance of sweet, sour and heat just doesn't hit the mark. Iceland's own chicken wings are a better option in her opinion. Then there's the Cheesy Garlic Chicken Enchilada which left her utterly perplexed. It didn't feel authentic, the chicken was somewhat dry, and it was instantly forgettable. The entire meal actually deterred her from ever reserving a table at Las Iguanas. Although, perhaps the experience could have been enhanced with some freshly made sides, like guacamole, sour cream and salad. And maybe she hasn't sampled the best of the range, they also offer nacho toppers, individual burritos, burrito bowls, mac and cheese and churros. Many of these items are included in Iceland's three for £10 deal, so you can give them a whirl yourself.
