I gave the DJI Mini 5 Pro 5 stars and it’s finally available to buy in the U.S. — but not through DJI

The DJI Mini 5 Pro is my favorite mini drone. Scratch that. It is the best mini drone money can buy right now, period. Alongside its very advanced uncle, the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, it is only the second drone I've ever given a full 5/5 star rating to. It's extremely easy to fly, it captures incredible 4K/60fps footage, and its free-rotating gimbal lets you get very creative with your shots. But at launch, the Mini 5 Pro wasn't available in the U.S., just like the Mavic 4 Pro. DJI cited market conditions and noted that it would continue evaluating the "evolving industry environment" before making the drone available through the official website. While we got to enjoy the Mini 5 Pro in the U.K., Europe, Australia and other parts of the world, Americans couldn't — until now. Rejoice, my American friends, it's like Christmas has come early, as you can finally buy the Mini 5 Pro, but not through DJI. You'll have to shake hands with Amazon instead. On Amazon, the Mini 5 Pro is available in a few bundles. You can grab just the drone and the RC-N3 controller for $1,397. Amazon is also stocking the Fly More Combo for $1,708, and it comes with the RC-2 controller, ND filters, spare batteries and a shoulder bag. If you're willing to spend even more, you can get the Fly More Combo for $1,929, and it comes with all the aforementioned goodies as well as Intelligent Flight Battery Plus' which bump up the flight time to 52 minutes per charge. That's a lot of money, I know, and definitely more than what the drone costs in the U.K. But if you want best-in-class flying and photographing, you won't go wrong with the Mini 5 Pro. It improves on its predecessor, the DJI Mini 4 Pro, to deliver an unmatched experience. The Mini 5 Pro packs a powerful, large 1-inch sensor for improved low-light performance and 4K/60fps HDR video capture. It's a mini that thinks big. Like the bigger, prosumer-focused DJI Air 3S, the Mini 5 Pro captures 50MP photos, remains stable in windy conditions up to 12 m/s or 26.8mph. Another addition to the Mini 5 Pro is omnidirectional obstacle avoidance supplemented with forward-facing LiDAR and an infrared sensor at the bottom of the aircraft. This means that the drone can detect obstacles all around it and either bypass or brake in front of them. Having LiDAR helps the drone to sense objects more reliably too, even in low-light environments. And it can return back to its last takeoff position even without GPS, so you can fly more confidently. The Mini 5 Pro has the most advanced safety features on a mini drone aimed at beginners. One of my favorite features on the Mini 5 Pro is one that it has inherited from the Mavic 4 Pro: the 225° gimbal which enables flexible and dynamic camera movement as well as wide-angle rotation. This free-moving gimbal lets you experiment with different kinds of shots, get creative, and it's extremely fun to use. It can be combined with the drone's short-form QuickShot modes too! If you've been holding out on buying a drone, I believe your time has come. I can't recommend the Mini 5 Pro enough, and it's great that it's now available to Americans via Amazon U.S., starting at $1,397 and going up to $1,929. Will you be buying it?
