If there’s one retailer that, in my opinion, does accessories well, it’s Marks and Spencer. Year after year, the brand releases on-trend options and shoppers can typically nab a stylish handbag or pair of shoes that will see them through the season and beyond for less than £50. As we transition into autumnal dressing, brown is a prime coveted colour gracing fashion collections, from chocolate shades to rust and teddy bear. I recently popped into a Marks and Spencer store and found a bag that ticked a number of trends – all for £25. The Faux Leather Sling Cross-Body Bag reminded me of the viral Uniqlo cross body , but with a suede-like fabric and thick leather-look strap. To me, it’s autumn in a handbag and while I managed to find one in store, it’s selling quickly online. Shoppers can wear the chic bag as a cross-body or detach the strap and use it as a clutch. It’s an easy-to-wear wardrobe staple and can be worn with so many different outfits, such as jumpers, dresses and T-shirts. When trying it out for myself, I found I could fit a lot of essentials inside, including my phone, some makeup, a hair brush and a purse. It’s not large enough to hold items such as a laptop, so may not be suited for work, however, it’s still a roomy option if you want to go hands-free. If you have a little extra to spend, I’m also a big fan of the Chocolate Brown Suede Suede Sling Cross-Body Bag from Next. It’s £39 and it also comes in burgundy or leopard print. Those that are interested in adding the Marks and Spencer brown suede bag into their wardrobes might not want to delay in adding one to their baskets as top reviews are flooding in. One person said it ‘fits so much’ is ‘easy to wear’ and comes in a ‘great colour’. Highlighting the pockets featured, someone else wrote: “Love this bag. Looks great and easy to wear. Nice and compact but still big enough to carry a decent amount and also has a handy zipped inner pocket.” Elsewhere at Marks and Spencer, there were a number of other bags that I loved the look of.
