Musician and entertainer Showboy has disclosed plans to resume formal education, as he reflects on how crime and imprisonment disrupted what was once a promising academic career. He revealed that he earned seven ones in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and gained admission to Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, later continuing to Montgomery College in the United States. His initial ambition, he said, was to become a lawyer. However, he noted that while working multiple jobs abroad, including security, a coffee shop, and a gas station, negative influences pushed him into criminal activities, ultimately leading to a prison sentence that ended his academic progression. Now determined to correct his course, Showboy says he has tasked his management to retrieve his index number from Presec as part of his intent to further his education, potentially at GIMPA. “I want to go back to school,” he stated on 3Music TV monitored by MyNewsGh. “Let me try and see if I can go back to GIMPA.” He acknowledged the uncertainty of relying solely on his entertainment career. “If the music don’t go well, I ain’t got nothing to do,” he admitted, appreciating his mother for still supporting him financially. Despite public perceptions of his lifestyle, Showboy insists he is committed to change. “God gave me a second chance. I’m never going back to the streets,” he affirmed.
