I'm A Celeb signs up comedy legend and hope she'll reveal huge showbiz stories

A TV comedy legend has reportedly been lined up to join the next series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Ruby Wax has been rumoured to be one of the contestants heading into the jungle in the coming weeks. The 72-year-old is said to be in advanced talks with ITV bosses to travel to Australia for the iconic show. The programme is due to return to our screens next month. A full line-up is yet to be announced, but plenty of famous faces are set to take part and have a go at living in the jungle. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly will be returning to their usual posts of presenting I'm A Celeb. The Sun reported that source said: "Ruby’s a proper TV legend and adds real gravitas to this year’s line-up. She’s interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world so will have no problem getting to know her fellow campmates. It will make great TV for viewers." Ruby is no stranger to putting herself out of her comfort zone. She spent ten days on a remote island for Channel 5's Ruby Wax: Cast Away back in 2023. She joins several other rumoured campmates including Kelly Brook , 45, former EastEnders ' star Shona McGarty, 34, and rapper Aitch, 25. Earlier this week Christine McGuinness accidentally confirmed that she has signed up to take part in the show as well. Contestants tend to be sworn to secrecy before the official line-up announcement but the 37-year-old admitted that she had finally committed to taking part after years of being asked by ITV bosses. She explained that she has a "f*** it" moment that made her commit to the show. The mum-of-three spoke about her next challenge at Monday's Pride of Britain Awards. She told The Daily Mail: "In the past I am never away from my children, I'd be frightened of the creepy crawlies, I have sensory issues I have never been outside Europe so flying over there would be quite a challenge. "But I've got a bit of 'f*** it'. Trying to get over to the jungle might be a bit of a mission, but this year is the year I have been most like 'f*** it' why not." Christine went on to hint that her fear of heights could mean that she may enter the camp later than others so she can avoid parachuting into the jungle. Christine's friend who stood by her on the red carpet told her off her for revealing that she was part of the line-up as they said: "What did you just say?! You're not even allowed to say that! Christine!" The Mirror have contacted ITV and Ruby's reps for comment. Like this story?
