Hyundai has officially confirmed its high-performance electric sedan, the Ioniq 6 N, will arrive in Australia in the first half of 2026. Since debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, the Ioniq 6 N has been closely watched by enthusiasts keen to experience Hyundai’s next step in its performance EV line-up. That set-up enables a 0–100km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds using N Launch Control and a top speed of 257km/h. The Ioniq 6 N has a claimed range of 487km (WLTP), and can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 18 minutes on a 350kW ultra-fast charger. However, it’s the car’s performance and capability that really sets it apart from the rest. Hyundai is promising that the Ioniq 6 N will deliver a driving experience that is as rewarding on a day-to-day basis as it is on the racetrack, making it the ultimate Everyday Sportscar. The Ioniq 6 N also introduces N Drift Optimiser for customisable drift settings and N Track Manager, which allows drivers to monitor lap times, performance data and even visualise “ghost” laps for comparison. There are also ambient shift lights that add visual cues for shift timing, along with Hyundai’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as part of its SmartSense suite. Hyundai Ioniq 6 N. Aerodynamic upgrades include a motorsport-style swan-neck rear wing and wider fenders, which improve stability at high speeds. Hyundai has also added new electronically controlled dampers that adjust as you drive, helping the car stay smooth and stable whether you’re cornering hard or just cruising. Inside, the cabin continues the performance focus with a black and blue theme, Alcantara and leather bucket seats, and an exclusive N Pasubio steering wheel with programmable N1/N2 buttons for quick access to drive modes. Hyundai will also offer a range of N performance parts, inspired by Hyundai’s motorsport programs. That means owners can personalise their car with track-focused upgrades and really lean into the brand’s “Corner Rascal” personality. Pricing for the Ioniq 6 N has yet to be announced, but the Ioniq 5 N currently starts from around $119,000 drive-away.
