The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) removed encroachments from a layout open space meant for public utilities in Kondapur on Saturday. The 4,300 square yard plot was allocated for a school and other public utilities in the Osmania University Teachers Welfare Society layout, at Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Kondapur. The layout was made in 1978 with permission from the village panchayat, with 350 plots. HYDRAA alleged that the plot in question was divided into three parts, and fake documents were created by a person named Kolla Madhava Reddy who had a development agreement in the three plots in connivance with the original developers of the layout. Not receiving any response from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation despite complaints, the colony representatives approached HYDRAA through Prajavani programme. After due inquiries, the encroachment was confirmed, and action was taken. The plot was fenced off and sign boards were installed. Criminal cases have been registered against the layout developer Pochaiah, Mr. Madhava Reddy and his son, a statement from HYDRAA informed. HYDRAA has also taken possession of another layout park on Saturday at Machabolarum in Alwal mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Residents of Sri Sai Surya Colony in Machabolarum approached HYDRAA with allegations that the layout open space admeasuring 520 square yards, allotted for a park, is being attempted to be usurped by a few who tried to stall the development of a park. HYDRAA has secured the land by laying a fencing around it, a statement informed.
