STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — When Lev Mazniker and Danielle Riili first met in optometry school, they shared a vision for opening a private practice where patients of all ages would feel welcome, cared for and excited about their eye care. In August, the husband-and-wife duo made that dream a reality, opening Eyes on Amboy, a boutique-style vision clinic in Oakwood. “We both went to school at SUNY College of Optometry in NYC, and after graduating, we worked at different offices in Brooklyn,” noted Dr. Lev Mazniker. “We knew eventually after getting married, that we’d want an office of our own, a place that was more than just an office to get an eye exam, somewhere we could tailor our eye services to accommodate everyone.” The doctors, both longtime Staten Island residents, found prime retail real estate at 3161 Amboy Rd., located in the Oakwood Shopping Center at the corner of Amboy and Clarke Ave. It took months to renovate and make it their own, but Mazniker said all of the planning and hard work was worth it. “Our office is full of stylish eyewear options for all ages,” Mazniker said. “Beyond style, we’re committed to delivering top-tier medical eye care. We offer comprehensive eye exams for both children and adults. We use the latest technology to ensure your eyes are healthy and your vision is at its best. In addition, we offer services such as contact lens fittings, emergency eye care, and myopia control. The office accepts most major insurance plans and offers flexible appointment scheduling, including same day availability in some cases.” Mazniker said most comprehensive eye exams are covered by insurance, and the stylish eyewear offered at the boutique is available at a range of price points. He said what makes the business so unique is its hospitable atmosphere. “Our vision was to create a warm and welcoming space full of stylish eyewear options patients will love wearing,” he said. “Whether you’re shopping for your child’s first pair of glasses or something that reflects your personal style, we’re here to help you find the perfect fit.” The best part of owning and operating this business?
