Following the official reveal that the film was getting a sequel, the members of KPop Demon Hunters' fictional phenomenon Huntr/x opened up about their hopes for the next installment. The Netflix film follows the KPop band Huntr/x, made up of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who also moonlight as demon hunters. KPop Demon Hunters became a cultural juggernaut during the summer of 2025, breaking multiple records for the streaming platform. Though the characters' speaking voices were provided by Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo, Huntr/x's singing voices are EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. The trio have performed publicly as Huntr/x on shows such as Saturday Night Live, and they are likely to return for KPop Demon Hunters 2. Speaking with Collider, Ami, Nuna, and EJAE each revealed their hopes for the sequel film. “I want to see the girls in different cities," Nuna said. "I want to see what they bring globally. Because I think this film has had such a global impact. I think the movie and reality have been having this really crazy conversation with one another, so I would love to just see that continue.” For her part, EJAE wants to continue the trend of KPop Demon Hunters representing Korean culture, stating that she would like to see "more Korean traditional stuff, like traditional history, music, [and] food." While both Nuna and EJAE were thinking about the cultural impact the sequel could have, Ami was interested in where the plot could go. “I would love to see the origin story of how the girls got together," Ami stated. "If it's not a prequel, then I want Gwi-Ma back. Bring him back. Who's going to be the antagonist? I'm so curious for this next one.” The film, of course, ends with Huntr/x being victorious in sealing away the demon king Gwi-Ma, leaving the sequel's antagonist a mystery. Previously, the members of Huntr/x caught up with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan and talked about what they wanted KPop Demon Hunters 2 to explore. The band had s unanimous consensus that the film needed to answer the mystery surrounding Rumi's parentage.
