Running Shoe Deals
There are almost 200 running shoes on sale at REI right now, which is both good and bad news. The good news is that there are undoubtedly great deals available. The bad news is that it’s not easy to find the best deals in such a big sale.
To help you out I’ve scoured the REI sale for what I consider to be the most impressive deals on excellent running shoes that I’ve tested myself. These deals include discounts on road and trail shoes, new(ish) releases and old favorites, and there’s something for every runner to consider.
The standout deal for me overall is the 21% discount on the New Balance Rebel v4, which is now $109 at REI, but there are many other great savings available on shoes if that doesn’t suit you.

Running Shoe Deals
Merrell Morphlite: was $100 now $74 at REI
The Morphlite is a comfortable and lightweight road-to-trail shoe that’s great value even at full price so well worth your consideration now it’s down to just $74 in the REI sale. The outsole offers grip for runs on light trails and sidewalks, and the Morphlite a good option for fast hikes as well. Both the men’s and women’s Morphlite are reduced in the sale, with a range of colors and sizes available.
Saucony Tempus: was $160 now $101 at REI
Although the Saucony Tempus is quite an old shoe it still stands up to the best on the market in its category of lightweight stability sneakers. It offers both support and versatility thanks to the midsole, which contains a core of springy foam surrounded by a firmer frame. The men’s and women’s Tempus are reduced in multiple colors and sizes in the REI sale.
New Balance Rebel v4: was $140 now $109 at REI
The Rebel v4 is an exceptionally versatile and fun daily trainer, with a lightweight but stable and cushioned design that means it works well for any kind of run. The men’s and women’s Rebel v4 are both included in the REI sale but only a couple of sizes are left in one color for the women’s shoe.
Hoka Mach 6: was $140 now $112 at REI
I’ve been praising the Hoka Mach 6 to anyone who’ll listen since I tested it last year and I’m delighted that it’s become a regular in sales over the past couple of months. REI has both the women’s and men’s Mach 6 in its sale, with more colors and sizes of the women’s shoe still available.
On Cloudsurfer Trail Waterproof: was $180 now $134 at REI
As winter draws near it’s worth considering adding a waterproof running shoe to your line-up, for the added warmth as well as water resistance. The Cloudsurfer Trail Waterproof is a road-to-trail running shoe with a smooth rocker and a stylish enough design to wear it outside your training as well.
