A huge police presence was called to a street in Manchester following reports of a knife attack on Tuesday night (October 7). Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to Gorton Lane in Gorton after reports that a man had been stabbed. Pictures and videos shared on social media showed a number of police vehicles in attendance near to The Vulcan pub and the junction with Froxmer Street. Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE Witnesses said the area was also cordoned off amid investigations into the attack on Tuesday evening. The road was closed off in both directions as police responded. One person posted on social media: “Wow the police are all over,” as another commented: “I was literally just going to go to that shop just as the police blocked it all off.” Details about the incident and condition of the victim have not yet been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police .
