Huawei has just announced a bunch of new smartwatches, the GT 6 series and the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2. The Huawei Watch GT 6 series consists of the regular GT 6 and the GT 6 Pro. Those are the two watches we’ll focus here, we’ll talk about the ‘Ultra’ separately.
Huawei recently became the world’s number one manufacturer of wrist-worn wearables, and the company is not running away from that title. With these new watches, the company is trying to keep up the momentum.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 series is here with three different model
The company says that these smartwatches are designed with “fitness and health tracking accuracy in mind, to give users a sense of freedom in their pursuit of outdoor experiences and a healthier lifestyle.”
The Huawei Watch GT 6 series offers ultra-long battery life of up to 21 days. These watches have a high-silicon stacked battery, which delivers 65% higher capacity than the previous model.
These watches offer outstanding battery life, of up to 21 days
The Huawei Watch GT 6 (41mm version) offers up to 14 days of battery life, while the GT 6 46mm and GT 6 Pro offer up to 21 days of battery life. Do note that such battery life is quoted as an absolute peak with power consumption, so note that you won’t be getting anywhere near there if you’re using everything this watch has to offer. You’ll still get great battery life, though, Huawei is known for that.
They also come with improved GPS and insanely bright displays
These watches also support the upgraded Sunflower Positioning System for GPS. The GT 6 Pro introduces a slightly raised bezel for protection and a 5.5% larger screen than its predecessor. You’ll also be getting brightness of up to 3,000 nits here.
Huawei used premium materials to make these watches. That includes sapphire glass, aviation-grade titanium alloy, and nanocrystal ceramic for the rear cover.
Some interesting new fitness features are in tow
These devices are the very first watches to offer cycling virtual power, which is “providing cyclists with the most precise and scientifically grounded way to measure their riding intensity.” They also offer enhanced features for trail running, skiing, and golf.
Huawei also included the new TruSense system, which is “taking wellbeing support to the next level. With multidimensional detection, it provides detailed health analytics and cardiovascular health monitoring, ensuring all-around care for both your body and mind, day and night.” The newly-added HRV metric will also be useful, and so on. These watches pack a ton of fitness and health features.
The 41mm version of the Huawei Watch GT 6 comes in 41mm and 46mm versions. The former is available in black, brown, and green colors. The latter comes in black, brown, gold, purple, and white colors.
We only have the UK price for now. The Huawei Watch GT 6 starts at £229, while the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro starts at £329. Some launch offers are available. These watches will hit a ton of other countries and regions, we just don’t have the pricing for other regions just yet.
