The NFL trade deadline has officially passed, and Philadelphia Eagles' No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown is still in the City of Brotherly Love. Despite a handful of rumors that claimed the Eagles were looking to trade Brown, he is not going anywhere. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman finally laid those rumors to rest during his press conference on Tuesday and explained why dealing Brown was never in their plans. “When you’re trying to be a great team, it’s hard to trade great players. A.J. Brown is a great player,” Roseman told reporters on Tuesday. “He cares about winning. He cares about his teammates. He wears the ‘C’ for a reason. He’s an important part of this team and this organization. . . . When you’re a team like ours, that’s looking forward to an opportunity to compete for a championship, you just don’t get rid of guys like that.” A.J. Brown has one simple request for the Eagles It's been an up-and-down start to the season for Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts' connection. The two seem off, and Brown is not getting as many targets as he should be. Brown has made it very clear with cryptic messages on social media that he isn’t happy with his lack of targets over the last eight weeks of the season. And he made his frustration heard even more clearly while speaking to The Athletic’s Brooks Kubena last week. In the exclusive interview, Brown not only discussed his mental health, but also how contributing more would make him so much happier. “I know everybody’s counting on me, that’s my thrill. Everybody knows the ball’s coming to me. I love that feeling. It’s a rush,” Brown told Kubena. “And that’s why it’s frustrating at times. And maybe people really misunderstand me as a player, but those feelings – that’s what I want. You may see a little frustration. It’s because I really want to contribute. … if I’m not getting the ball, obviously, it’s not as fun.” Brown has hauled in 29 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns in seven games so far. It's great that the Eagles didn't let him go via trade, but now it's time to make their top wide receiver happy once they return from their Bye Week.
