Villanova comes off a blowout loss in front of the largest crowd the program has ever faced, dropping a 52-6 decision at No. 2 Penn State from the FBS on Sept. 13. The Wildcats opened with a 24-17 win at home over stubborn Colgate. Villanova reached the FCS playoffs each of the last two seasons, bowing out in the second round to Incarnate Word in 2024.The Hawks played tough at FBS Charlotte on Sept. 13, losing 42-35 on a touchdown with 1:30 left in regulation. Derek Robertson had a huge game, throwing for 410 yards and four touchdowns in the loss, with two of those scoring throws going to Josh Derry, who caught seven passes for 110 yards. Saturday marks Monmouth’s home opener after earlier wins at Colgate (42-39) and Fordham (49-28).
