Buffalo enters Week 4 at 2‑1 after a tight 31‑28 win over Kent State, where Ta’Quan Roberson threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, and Al‑Jay Henderson chipped in both through the air and on the ground. Their offense has leaned on a balanced run‑pass mix but hasn’t tested the ceiling yet; defensively they’ve been solid against the run, though the pass defense could be exposed.
Troy is 1‑2 and has had trouble getting much consistency. Their passing game ranks near the bottom nationally, and while their defense makes some plays, they’ve given up yards in chunks, especially on the ground. To pull the upset, Troy will need to avoid turnovers, execute in the red zone, and control the time of possession.
