The Detroit Red Wings are back home on Monday night to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in preseason action.
This will be the Red Wings’ fifth game of the preseason. After kicking things off with wins over the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres at LCA, Detroit hit the road this past weekend, taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sabres on consecutive nights, losing both games by a combined score of 8-4.

The Red Wings gear up for a 2025-26 season that many hope will be an improvement after what was another frustrating campaign last year. The team returns most of its core, featuring Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat, and captain Dylan Larkin, along with some new faces. The most notable addition was that of goaltender John Gibson, who is expected to bring some stability between the pipes.
Pittsburgh is another team that has been rebuilding as well. After finishing near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division once again, the Penguins hope they can show signs of improvement this year.
