After a disappointing loss in early September to Houston (35-9), the Owls have turned their season back around, winning a home game against Prairie View A&M 38-17 and a road game at Charlotte 28-17. In the latter contest, Rice dominated the line of scrimmage, rushing for 255 yards and three touchdowns, while allowing Charlotte just 75 yards. Daelen Alexander found the end zone twice as part of his 10-rush, 73-yard performance, while Chase Jenkins notched the third rushing touchdown.
Coming off a 10-3 season in 2024, coach Brian Newberry has the Midshipmen on track again, undefeated after wins over VMI (52-7), UAB (38-24), and Tulsa (42-23). In their last game, Navy used its prolific rushing attack to control Tulsa, rushing 63 times for 367 yards and five touchdowns. Blake Horvath led the team with 21 rushes for 159 yards and a score, with Alex Tecza scoring two touchdowns to go with his 72 yards.
