Bidding sayonara to the World Athletics Championships, the men’s and women’s 4x100m finals will be the last event at Tokyo 2025 and a final chance for the likes of the United States, Canada and Jamaica to add a gold to their medal tallies.

The men’s and women’s 4x100m at the 2025 World Athletics Championships run from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21.

There aren’t many events on the track where the matter of whether the favorites will even finish the race is in question. Despite having won the most golds in the games’ history, Team USA developed a reputation in the 2010s for being unable to get the baton around legally — such are the margins of error and the difference hundredths of a second can make in the 4x100m relay.
The US men’s and women’s teams both left Budapest with 4x100m gold two years ago and will be confident of repeating the double here, especially after Melissa Jefferson-Wooden’s gold in the individuals. Jamaica are also a threat and riding high with a one-two for Oblique Seville and Kishane Thompson in the men’s 100m.
With the heats set to take place on Saturday (from 7.25 a.m. ET), the finals will be the last events on track on Sunday (from 8:10 a.m. ET).
