How To Open Tipping Point Bunker in Borderlands 4—Location & How To Complete

There are various Order Bunkers scattered around Kairos. The Tipping Point Bunker is likely the first one you’ll come across in Borderlands 4, and if you’re stuck, it’s because there’s a hidden way to open it in the game that isn’t obvious right away.

Borderlands 4 is quite on the nose with its content. As you explore Kairos, icons start appearing on the map quicker than a rash. Even Randy Pitchford revealed all the game’s collectibles before launch. However, there are still some secrets for you to discover.

The Tipping Point Bunker seems confusing at first. The door appears blocked or guarded by a force—that’s because it is.

Tipping Point Bunker Location in Borderlands 4

The Tipping Point Bunker is found in the very southeast corner of The Fadefields.

As shown in the screenshot above, the bunker is located next to a boss arena and a Safe House in Borderlands 4. Nothing is stopping you from going straight to the Bunker once you have full control over your Vault Hunter to explore Kairos. However, if you go to the Bunker, you’ll find that you’re unable to enter it right away.

How To Open And Complete Tipping Point Bunker in Borderlands 4

You can only open the Tipping Point Bunker (and other Order Bunkers) once you’ve completed the One Fell Swoop Main Story mission and unlocked the ability to throw Locust Canisters.

Here’s a quick walkthrough showing you what to do:

Play through Borderlands 4 and complete its main story missions.

Keep going until you reach the One Fell Swoop story mission.

Complete these missions—unlocking Locust Canisters in the process.

Return to the Tipping Point Bunker.

Face the main entrance, and turn 90 degrees left, and head in this direction.

Behind some golden-looking pipes and tucked away in the corner is a giant ventilation shaft opening.

Go through the natural path here and then jump up to the platform—marked by yellow and black lines.

The Locust Canister dispenser is in this room on the left.

Take a canister, quickly head to the Tipping Point Bunker door, and throw the container at the door.

This should instantly dissolve the protective barrier on the bunker’s door, allowing you to enter.

One Fell Swoop is a main mission found relatively early on in Borderlands 4. During the mission, you encounter a similar door to the one blocking your path to the Tipping Point Bunker. In One Fell Swoop, you activate Locust Canisters across Kairos, and these are used to corrode bunker doors and other obstacles.

You can enter the Tipping Point Bunker, and you simply need to progress through it, kill the Order enemies along the way, and eliminate the Mimicron boss at the end.

It will drop a fountain of loot—which could always feature legendaries!

We hope this guide helps you to understand how bunkers work in Borderlands 4. It’s easy once you know what you’re doing, but the hard part is completing the bunkers. Let us know via the Insider Gaming forum if you need guides for anything else in Borderlands 4 or other games in general.
