The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees face off in the American League Wild Card series this week, with all games at Yankee Stadium. Here’s everything you need to know about how to buy tickets so you don’t miss out on this classic rivalry in October baseball.
The series kicks off on Tuesday, September 30, at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN. Tickets are on sale on Ticketmaster, but fans should know that tickets sold through Ticketmaster are restricted to residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania because Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx, NY. Fans outside of these states who are looking for the best prices and seats can shop online using reliable third-party ticket sellers, such as StubHub, Vivid Seats, and SeatGeek. These ticket sellers don’t have restrictions for the MLB Playoffs.
For those shopping on Ticketmaster, residency will be based on the credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania will be canceled without notice and refunds given, according to Ticketmaster.
*New customers who purchase tickets through VividSeats can get $20 off a $200+ ticket order by using the promo code MassLive20 at checkout.*
If you need to travel outside your local area to get to this game, head over to TripAdvisor, VRBO, Marriott or Booking.com for deals on everything from car rentals to airfare to hotels.
Tickets for the series range from $97 to $500 as of Monday, September 29.
Ceddanne Rafaela launched one off the wall in center for a walk-off triple against Tommy Kahnle, helping the Red Sox win 4-3 over the Tigers on Friday and sending them into the postseason.
The Red Sox went 9-4 against their arch-rival this season, including 5-2 at Yankee Stadium. This will be the sixth postseason series between these two foes. The Red Sox won the most recent meeting in the 2021 AL Wild Card Game, 6-2. This is also the first time the Sox will be back in the postseason since 2021.
