The Marvel Zombies mode in Marvel Rivals has seven difficulty levels for you to work through, with Nightmare 4 being the toughest one. It truly lives up to its name as the most daunting challenge you can face, so you might need some help beating it. Nightmare 4 is designed to push you to your very limit, unleashing wave after wave of deadly zombies and more boss fights than any other level. It’s a true test of your skills, so getting through it is no easy feat, which means you need to know how to beat Nightmare 4 in Marvel Rivals Zombies. Marvel Rivals Zombies Nightmare 4 Guide How to Beat Nightmare IV in Marvel Rivals Zombies To beat Nightmare 4, you need to carefully strategize, use the right build, get lucky with your Blessing pulls, work with your team, and navigate through all 20 phases. There’s a lot to this process, and some of it is entirely out of your control. Here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to know to get through this trial. All Phases in Nightmare 4 in Marvel Rivals Zombies Nightmare 4 has a whopping 20 phases to work through, which is more than any other mode. Each phase is a bit unique, so here’s what to expect at each one. Phase 1-4 – Defeat swarms of zombies as they arrive. Phase 5 – Defeat Zombie Namor. Phase 6-9 – Defeat waves of zombies as they spawn. Phase 10 – Defeat Zombie Scarlet Witch. Phase 11-14 – Defeat zombies as they appear. Phase 15 – Defeat Zombie Namor and Zombie Scarlet Witch. Phase 16-19 – Defeat hordes of zombies as they arrive. Phase 20 – Defeat two Zombie Scarlet Witches. Marvel Rivals Zombies Nightmare 4 Best Character Tier List All five characters are fairly viable in Nightmare 4, but there are some that are certainly better than others and will make navigating this mode a lot easier. Here are all five characters ranked specifically for this difficulty level, which is different from how they rank as the overall best characters for Marvel Zombies. Blade – The undisputed king of the entire Marvel Zombies mode is the best pick for getting through Nightmare 4. In fact, I’d even say you absolutely need at least one Blade on your team to get through it, as I’ve never seen it done without him. Thor – You’ll likely overlook Thor in the earlier difficulties, as he doesn’t seem all that useful in comparison to the rest, but in the endgame, he’s a must-have on your team. He’s my go-to for all Nightmare difficulties, as he’s a superb anchor and damage dealer with incredible mobility and useful AoE abilities that stun enemies. The Punisher – A solid pick for any player, as he’s capable of massive damage output and is easy for anyone to master. He specializes in single-target damage, which is incredibly important for taking out the bigger enemies and bosses. Magik – She’s a solid zombie-slaying machine once you get to higher difficulty levels, but it’s a bit tough to justify picking her when Blade can do just about everything she can but better. She’s not bad by any means, but it’s generally better to just be Blade instead. Jeff the Land Shark – It’s certainly possible to win with a Jeff on your team, it’s just generally a lot harder than it is for most other characters. He excels in all other difficulties, but his skills just don’t translate all that well here. Best Team for Nightmare 4 in Marvel Rivals Zombies There isn’t really one best team to beat Nightmare 4, as it really comes down to the individual players, builds, and Blessings for all characters. Generally, though, I’ve found the most success with and witnessed other players excelling most with the following lineups. Two Thors and two Blades. Two Blades and two The Punishers. One Thor, two Blades, and one The Punisher. One Blade, one Thor, one Magik, and one The Punisher. Four Blades. Tips and Tricks to Beat Nightmare 4 in Marvel Rivals Zombies There are lots of key tips and tricks to keep in mind when navigating through Nightmare 4 in Marvel Zombies, so here’s a breakdown of all of the most essential ones to know. Plan your build before you start playing. The choices you make before you even jump into the round are the most important, so be sure you fully spend all points on the “Prepare” page, know which Blessings you’re looking for, and how you want to play before diving in. Choose the best build possible for all characters. You might have a fun build you enjoy, but to actually make it through this challenge, you need the best build available. The right build varies depending on the character you’re playing, so be sure to learn the best Blade build, best Jeff build, best Thor build, best The Punisher build, and best Magik build. Don’t use hybrid builds. All of the best builds require you to focus on one path, and one path only for your character, so stick to the best path and don’t waste any points on abilities that don’t fit with it, as you need to fully maximize your build to find success here. Save your Holy Ankhs (revives) for when you really need them. You should never use one if there’s at least one teammate still alive, as you’ll always respawn for free after a bit of a cooldown as long as at least one player is still fighting. Only use a Holy Ankh if the round has entered the failure countdown phase. Team up with other players. This challenge is a lot easier to beat with help, so you should either rally some friends to play with or enter matchmaking to work with random players. Focus on survival when your teammates are down. If you’re the only one left standing, your sole priority must be to stay alive. Nothing else is more important, as you could end up losing the full match if everyone is out of Holy Ankhs, so focus on being the anchor. The only exception to this rule is when Scarlet Witch is casting her Reality Erasure ultimate, as destroying her crystals and stopping this move takes priority since she instakills everyone if she performs it. Don’t be afraid to double up on characters. In this mode, you only have five characters to choose from, but there’s no limit to how many times a hero is chosen. Because of this, you can run a full team of Blades, a team with two Thors and two Magiks, or any other combination you think of. Don’t be worried about having too many of the same character, as it’s always better to stack up on the better characters for this difficulty level. Level up. The more you play, the higher your level becomes, unlocking more points for you to spend on your characters, which in turn makes them better and boosts your odds of success. Keep trying and don’t give up. Unfortunately, luck plays a huge role in how easy or difficult it is to pass this mode, as factors like the Blessings you get and the teammates you match with are entirely random. Because of this, it’s best to keep trying, as you never know when everything will align in your favor and give you the win. Nightmare 4 Rewards in Marvel Rivals Zombies In addition to major bragging rights, successfully beating Nightmare 4 unlocks the exclusive “Queenslayer” title. You also get one Lantern to spend in the Voyage to Astonish Halloween event, but these can be earned through many other quests, too, and aren’t exclusive to this task.
