Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor has always kept her children, Samaira and Kian, away from the constant glare of the cameras. Despite their low-key lives, the siblings shared a close relationship with their late father, Sunjay Kapur. Her younger brother, Kian, is 15 years old and still in school in Mumbai. Born in 2010, Kian is more reserved and is rarely spotted at public events. While he occasionally appears with his mother during family gatherings, he prefers to stay away from paparazzi attention. So far, he has not shown any inclination toward films or even social media visibility, choosing a quieter lifestyle instead.
Legal Dispute Over Sunjay Kapur’s Estate
What has brought Samaira and Kian into headlines recently is not their personal choices, but a complex legal battle. Following Sunjay Kapur’s death, the siblings approached the Delhi High Court to contest a will dated March 21, 2024. The will reportedly leaves Sunjay’s entire Rs 30,000 crore estate—including prime real estate holdings, company shares, and investments to his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur.
Samaira and Kian, represented by Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, are demanding a one-fifth share of the fortune, claiming the will was unregistered and revealed under suspicious circumstances. The court has ordered Priya Kapur to submit a detailed inventory of Sunjay’s assets, with the next hearing scheduled for October 9.
Meanwhile, Priya’s legal team has countered that the children are already beneficiaries of a trust and have received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore. Adding to the complexity, Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has voiced her concerns, further entangling the case in family dynamics and inheritance disputes.
