This week, the cast of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” experienced a super-sized yacht in all its luxury — gourmet dinners, deluxe cabins, all while being diligently waited on by a full crew. That crew happened to be from another Bravo reality show, “Below Deck Down Under.” The crossover event took the Salt Lake City cast aboard the other cast’s Katina yacht to sail around Canouan in the Caribbean nation of the Grenadines. How much would an excursion like that run you? Here’s an itemized breakdown. And if sailing on the Katina is outside your price range, this week’s show highlighted less spendy items, too. Chartering the Katina • $245,000 and higher It’s the low season for chartering the Katina right now, which is often cruising the Indian Ocean around the Maldives and Seychelles this time of year, according to the website YachtCharterFleet.com. Booking the boat for a week could run between $245,000 and $315.000. The 197-foot yacht accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins. It also features large party spaces, an elevator connecting the decks, a sauna and massage room, a whiskey-and-smoking lounge and a gymnasium. Capt. Jason Chambers and the Katina’s eight crew members greet the “Real Housewives” cast at the dock. Angie Katsanevas warns Capt. Chambers that her group will be a handful. “Let’s just say you’ll never work so hard for your money in your life,” Angie says. When one of the stewards tells Ben Robinson, the head chef, what Angie said, he comments: “I hope that’s reflected in the tip. Otherwise, I’m stealing all their jewelry.” Airfare to Canouan • Around $3,000 (one way) Chartering the Katina doesn’t include the airfare to get to the port. Hiring a six-seater plane for a one-way trip from Barbados to Canouan, according to one website, is $1,949 (plus tax). And a flight from Salt Lake City to Bridgetown, Barbados, can run around $1,000 or higher, according to Expedia. When the cast members fly to Canouan, Bronwyn Newport isn’t with them; she joins after catching a different flight. Later, at lunch on the yacht, Bronwyn owns up to a 2005 apartment eviction in Provo, back when she says she was kicked out of Brigham Young University for being pregnant. She also talks vaguely about a criminal case in California, in which a former coworker was accused of identity theft and grand larceny. The court records in that case have been sealed, Bronwyn notes, but she says she was never charged with anything. Bronwyn mentioned the case because there’s been mention in the group of a gossip website that in 2021 linked her name to the charges — which, she said, was embarrassing to her and her husband, entrepreneur Todd Bradley. It’s that embarrassment, and the question of who’s been digging up dirt on her, that gave Bronwyn pause before going on this trip. Talking unicorn plush • $19.98 (marked down) Bronwyn isn’t thrilled when she learns she’s sharing a cabin with Britani Bateman, but she gets a laugh when she sees what Britani brought with her: A plush unicorn that, when its paw is squeezed, says “you are loved” in the voice of Britani’s on-again-off-again boyfriend, Jared Osmond. Britani says she’s taking a 30-day break from Jared as she concentrates on rebuilding her relationship with her daughter Olivia. Britani also says Jared helped her pack for the trip, so she had to reset that 30-day clock. Bronwyn comments that the unicorn, at some point, will get thrown overboard. It’s not idle talk; in the ominous montage at the episode’s beginning, the plush is seen floating in the Caribbean. The catalog store Hammacher Schlemmer offers its “Large Talk Back Mimicking Unicorn” on its website for $19.98, a discount from its listed price of $49.95. Dramamine • $5.49 For a while, the person having the least amount of fun on the yacht is Angie, who comes down with a severe case of seasickness. Angie skips that night’s dinner, laying in bed in her cabin, where Mary Cosby opts to eat her dinner and keep Angie company. Relaxing below deck, the two miss the fireworks at dinner, though they can hear some shouting. A 12-tablet, travel-sized vial of Dramamine, which might have helped soothe Angie’s nausea, lists for $5.49 on the Smith’s Food and Drug website. At dinner, Heather Gay and Whitney Rose accuse Lisa Barlow of digging up dirt on any cast member she’s angry with. That includes Bronwyn, Whitney, Angie and Meredith Marks. Lisa loudly denies that and yells at Meredith for not defending her sufficiently. She ends the evening in tears, calling her husband, John, and demands to leave the yacht.
