He is a Top Gun of the business world but he likes nothing better than Top Gun the movie. Billionaire Tom Schroder named his yacht, which is cruising in Mallorcan waters, Maverick, in homage to his favourite film. He incorporated numerous tributes to the film into the yacht’s design.

Maverick is a 44-metre explorer yacht.The yacht features distinctive black side wings on the top deck, resembling the F-14A Tomcat jet, and includes memorabilia from the film, such as a signed photo of Tom Cruise. Global Journey: Schröder and his family are currently on a lengthy world cruise aboard the yacht.

Tom Schröder. made his fortune with Solarhybrid AG, a company specialising in photovoltaic power plants, and also co-founded Seven Miles Group and Wishcard Technologies Group.

Interesting enough Tom Cruise visited the island last year and went sailing off the north coast of the island. At the time it was reported that he was looking for locations for his latest film.

Work on the new Top Gun 3 is said to be underway and comes after the major box office success of Top Gun 2 “Maverick.”
