What’s next for the Dolphins?
Hill was the subject of numerous trade rumors even before Miami lost three straight games to open this season. On Tuesday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL. The 31-year-old won’t play again this season and may never again feature for Miami.
As it pertains to the rest of the Dolphins’ 2025 schedule, a team with a head coach on the hot seat will need targets such as tight end Darren Waller to step up in Hill’s absences. Waller tallied two touchdown catches in his campaign debut on Monday evening.
“I feel like there will be a lot of guys in the receiver room that will have more opportunities to make plays. I have faith in them, especially from what I’ve seen over camp and the first few weeks,” Waller said after the victory. “Football is a game and a business where you got to move forward. There is no replacing [Hill], but I feel like we got guys that can get the job done.”
As of Tuesday morning, ESPN BET had the Dolphins as 1.5-point road underdogs for this coming Sunday’s game at the 1-3 Carolina Panthers.
