Hosepipe Bans to Stay as England Faces Another Year of Drought

England is on track for another year of drought, as record dry weather has left reservoirs depleted and upcoming rainfall is expected to fall far short of what’s needed to replenish the nation’s water supplies. Hosepipe bans imposed by suppliers including Yorkshire Water, Thames Water, South East Water and Southern Water will remain in place, while further restrictions are being considered for South East Water and Severn Trent unless weather conditions improve, the Environment Agency said Thursday after meeting with the UK’s National Drought Group.
