CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WIS) - The Charlotte Hornets are putting a splash of orange on this season’s City Edition uniforms. The team revealed the new gear alongside a new court design on Tuesday. The Hornets said the orange, blue and white color scheme was inspired by the Bird of Paradise flower, named in honor of Queen Charlotte. The team added the look carries elements of the original Hornets franchise as well as the Charlotte Bobcats, and reflects the Carolinas’ reputation as a “Hoopers Paradise.” “We’re pleased to introduce a new narrative-driven City Edition Remix uniform to be worn this season during our various City-themed nights at the newly transformed Spectrum Center,” Hornets Sports & Entertainment Chief Marketing Officer Seth Bennett said in a statement. “From the very beginning, our uniforms have been bold, fashionable, and distinct, and this year’s uniform is no different. Hoopers Paradise pays tribute to the culture, courts and fans who live and breathe basketball across the Carolinas. ” Charlotte will wear the uniforms on select themed nights, starting with a Saturday home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
