Honor is working on a new flagship smartphone. Now, thanks to a teaser image the company shared online, the Honor Magic8 launch date has been revealed. According to Honor, it will officially announce the phone on October 15, 2025.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time Honor has teased the Magic8. The company actually showed off the phone at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit last month. We’ve also seen the design of the Honor Magic8 Pro, where it sports a new dedicated AI button and will be available in a cyan finish, but now we have the official launch date as well.
We should note that Honor is planning to host the launch in China. This raises the question about the phone’s global availability. There have been instances in the past where Chinese OEMs typically reserve their phones for China or some parts of Asia, so we’ll have to wait and see. However, Honor has been known to release most of their devices worldwide, so fingers-crossed that the Magic8 series is one of them.
What do we know so far?
In addition to the cyan finish and dedicated AI button, what will the Honor Magic8 series come with? Perhaps quite obviously it would be the chipset. The series is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chipset. Benchmarks have also revealed that the phone will come with 12GB of RAM.
The base model has also been rumored to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery. That’s quite impressive given that most phones on average have a 4,000-5,000mAh battery. The Pro model is also rumored to sport an even larger battery with wireless charging and a bigger display.
As for cameras, last we heard, it could feature a triple camera setup. It includes a 50MP wide-angle, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 200MP periscope zoom lens. We heard it might even include the use of a red maple multispectral camera. This is supposed to help improve color accuracy, even under low-light scenarios.
