AgenciesPrototype of Honda 0 α Japanese auto major Honda Motor Co., Ltd. on Wednesday unveiled the Honda 0 α (alpha), its next-generation electric vehicle, which is set to go on sale in India in 2027.The Honda 0 α, developed as an SUV, is designed to blend seamlessly with both urban and natural environments, supporting people's lives in every situation, the automaker said at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.According to the company, the production model of the Honda 0 α will be launched globally, primarily in Japan and India, in 2027. It will mark Honda’s first battery electric vehicle for the Indian market.Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Director, President and Representative, Toshihiro Mibe, said the company is working toward its goal of achieving carbon neutrality across all products and corporate activities by 2050.“Although the market environment surrounding electrification continues to be uncertain, we believe that, in the long run, the shift toward EVs will continue,” Mibe said, adding that Honda is steadily preparing to introduce attractive EV models for the coming electrified era.Live EventsFollowing the debut of the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV in January this year, the Honda 0 α will join the lineup as a gateway model to the Honda 0 Series, featuring a refined design and a spacious cabin, the company noted.Mibe said the Honda 0 Series represents the next generation of EVs from the automaker, created by going back to the brand’s roots and building new electric vehicles from “zero” based on original ideas.In Japan, three Honda 0 Series models: Honda 0 Saloon, Honda 0 SUV, and Honda 0 α are expected to go on sale before the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2028.Honda has already announced plans to launch multiple electric models in India over the next few years as part of its broader aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
