Holiday announced for November 1

NAROWAL – The Deputy Commissioner of Narowal, Syed Hassan Raza, announced that November 1 (Saturday) will be observed as a public holiday across the district on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lathani at Ali Pur Syedan Sharif. A formal notification has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The Urs attracts a large number of devotees from across the country, with significant numbers expected to visit Ali Pur Syedan Sharif to pay homage. As is customary, special arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the event, with strict security measures in place to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents. Police, Rescue 1122, and health department personnel have been assigned special duties to manage the event and ensure the safety and well-being of the visitors. Various religious activities, including Quran Khwani, Naat Khawani, and spiritual gatherings, will be held to honor the legacy of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah Lathani. Renowned religious scholars and spiritual leaders will shed light on his religious and spiritual contributions. The district administration has also arranged for food, ablution, and lodging facilities for the pilgrims. Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza urged the public to cooperate with the administration during the event and maintain peace and order. He emphasized that the message of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah—peace, unity, and brotherhood—is a timely call for today’s society. While the public holiday will be observed, essential services, including hospitals, emergency services, police, and municipal staff, will continue to operate as usual to ensure that public facilities are not disrupted.
