Noe Perales, whose car was the first to be hit, rushed outside upon hearing the impact.
“Whenever I first heard the impact, just had a gut feeling,” he said.
Perales managed to capture a key piece of evidence—a bumper with a distinctive Monster logo—hoping it will aid police in their investigation.
“So, this is the bumper here? This is the bumper. And I’m assuming this is my damage,” Perales said.
Bailey, the owner of a Subaru involved in the crash, expressed skepticism about the likelihood of an arrest.
“I’m not like hopeful, you know, like finding out who this person was,” she said.
Despite her respect for the Baltimore Police Department, she acknowledged their limited resources.
“I have respect for the BPD, but they have bigger fish to fry,” Bailey added.
Both victims are now facing out-of-pocket expenses for their insurance deductibles.
“The deductible that I’m responsible for is 900,” Perales noted.
Meanwhile, Bailey remarked, “The insurance thing is honestly like going to be the most annoying part.”
As the investigation continues, Perales is left dealing with the aftermath of the crash, relying on Uber to get to work.
“Uber, yeah, have to spend more money to get to my money maker you know,” he said.
Reflecting on the incident, he hopes it serves as a lesson on the destructive potential of vehicles when not used with care.
“It did a lot of harm, a lot of harm. And I hope they take this as a lesson,” Perales said.
Baltimore police are actively investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet.
