'Him' tackles box office on its opening day

“Him” was king at the box office on its opener Friday, taking in $6.47 million, according to The Numbers.
The supernatural psychological sports horror, produced by Jordan Peele and starring Marlon Wayans, “punts on plot,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
It is slated to earn $15 million in total this weekend, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
The Japanese animated action flick “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – the Movie Infinity Castle” took second place, with sales of $4.565 million.
In third was “The Conjuring: Last Rites” on its third Friday in theaters, earning $3.7 million.
“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” landed in fourth with a $1.94 million take on its second Friday at the box office.
The Post called the film, third and final in the “Downton Abbey” franchise, “legitimately engrossing.”
