Highmark Stadium: The final season

Longtime friends Don Beebe and Steve Tasker paid a visit to their old Buffalo Bills locker room at Highmark Stadium and the memories came flooding back.
Scott Radecic, a former Bills player, is a founder of the Kansas City-based architectural firm Populous and a co-leader on the design of the Bills’ future stadium. He’s focused on 11 months from now, when the 53-year-old Highmark Stadium closes and the new one opens.
As the Buffalo Bills prepare this week for their last home opener at the stadium formerly known as Rich, here’s a look at the life of John Leypoldt, who scored all of the Bills’ points in their first home opener there.
“The goodbyes we’ll see come January in Orchard Park will conjure familiar feelings for those of us old enough to remember the farewell to Buffalo’s other major sports homes,” Mike Harrington writes. “My sense is we’re not remotely as sad about leaving the building as we are about leaving the memories behind.”
Tickets are expensive to see the Buffalo Bills play in their final season at Highmark Stadium. It’s due to a combination of the Bills being a Super Bowl contender this season and fans trying to get an opportunity to see the team play one last time in Highmark Stadium.
