Highland Heroes recognises and celebrates our outstanding health workers with the healthcare hero award. The award will be presented to an individual within the healthcare sector who has provided a service above and beyond the call of duty, improving or making an impact on the quality of life of others. NOMINATE your Heroes by midnight on Sunday, December 14. Highland Heroes 2026 is a fantastic way to give thanks and to celebrate the unsung heroes in your community. There are 15 categories open for nomination: Support teacher/classroom assistant Community champion Charitable organisation Emergency services Brave child Primary teacher Primary pupil Secondary pupil Secondary teacher Healthcare hero Each week, there will be a special focus on each category and you will also hear from our generous sponsors why they are backing Highland Heroes. But you don’t have to wait! You can nominate in any of the categories before the deadline of midnight on Sunday, December 14. Our judges will whittle down your nominations to create a shortlist which will be published next year and you will be able to vote for your Highland Heroes 2026. In addition to the main categories, a very special award is also presented. A hero of heroes will be chosen by our judges from among all of your winners. All winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel, Inverness. Do you want to respond to this article?
