Top position holder students in recently announced results of the board examinations all over the country have returned to Pakistan after a successful visit to Turkiye from Oct 18 to Oct 24. These 70 bright students were taken to Turkiye in appreciation of their brilliant results on the directions of the Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The visit was organized by Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training under the Prime Minister’s initiative to promote academic excellence and cultural exchange. During the trip, they visited key educational and cultural institutions in Ankara, held meetings with their counterparts (students), teachers and attended a number of cultural shows, etc. The delegation spent a productive day in Ankara exploring major historical and educational sites. The students also paid homage at Anıtkabir, the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and later visited the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), where they were briefed on Türkiye’s higher education system and scholarship programs. The delegation also visited the Middle East Technical University (METU) for an interactive session on academic and research opportunities, and the Presidential National Library of Türkiye, where they explored its modern facilities and digital learning resources. The visit reflects Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to reward merit, strengthen educational collaboration with Türkiye, and enhance people-to-people linkages between the two brotherly nationsp The students enjoyed the visit greatly and expressed gratitude and appreciated the efforts taken by the Secretary Education, DG FDE and above all Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui for making the dream visit a reality. It was a lifetime experience and gave us exposure and high level of entertainment as well as enlightenment and we learned a great deal about the Turkish system of education, their culture and above all deep bond of brotherhood between Turkiye and Pakistan, said a high achiever upon return. It will further motivate us to keep working hard and win laurels for our parents as well as the country, said she.
