Here’s what we know about Sunday’s Navy event in Norfolk

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Navy Secretary John Phelan will be on the pier at Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday to attend a 250th anniversary celebration for the service.
A White House official told The Washington Post on Tuesday that President Trump would be in Norfolk on Friday — the original date of the anniversary event — before it was moved to Sunday due to concerns about high winds on the pier.
The event, “Titans of the Sea: A Salute to the Fleet,” will feature thousands of sailors in their whites. Veterans and their families are also invited to the event, which a Navy spokesperson described as “massive.”
Later in the week, the Norfolk-based USS Arlington will travel up the Delaware River on Oct. 9 for another Navy 250 celebration in Philadelphia.
The celebration also will feature tours of the docked ships, film screenings, fireworks displays and concerts. A parade of 7,000 participants will take place Oct. 13 in downtown Philadelphia.
In June, the Army celebrated its 250th anniversary with a parade in Washington, D.C. That event included armored tanks, 6,700 uniformed service members and came with a $30 million price tag.
