Here's how Logan Airport ranks in customer satisfaction

Traveler satisfaction at Logan International Airport is looking up.
The Boston airport ranked No. 10 in the the 20th annual J.D. Power 2025 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, released on Wednesday — the same ranking as last year but with a higher score and an improvement from its previous ranking of No. 16 in 2023 and No. 17 in 2022.
Traveler satisfaction was determined by examining seven factors (in order of importance): ease of travel through airport; level of trust with airport; terminal facilities; airport staff; departure/to airport experience; food, beverage and retail; and arrival/from airport experience.
Logan Airport was ranked among the mega airports, defined as airports with 33 million or more passengers per year. Logan Airport, which saw a record 43 million passengers last year, earned a score of 608 out of 1,000, just above the average of 603. Last year, Logan earned 591 points, which was just below the 595 average.
“We’re just continuing to listen to our customers at Logan,” Rich Davey, CEO of Massport, told The Boston Globe. “We’ve still got work to do. My ambition is not to be in the top 10. My ambition is to be in the top 5 in the next couple of years.”
Passenger satisfaction scores at airports in general are up 10 points this year, largely due to improvements in food, beverage, retail and ease of travel through the airport, according to Michael Taylor, managing director of travel, hospitality and retail at J.D. Power.
“A big part of this recent increase in passenger satisfaction is due to recently completed improvements in many airport facilities themselves,” Taylor said. “A few big capital improvement projects have now been completed and many more are underway or about to break ground.”
This year, travelers saw a big improvement in access to and from the airport, Taylor told the Globe. This fall, Logan’s 10 worst bathrooms will undergo renovations based on feedback from passengers and airport staff, according to Massport, and workers will focus on clearer layouts, better lighting, and more modern fixtures.
Logan’s new Terminal E, completed in 2023, was part of a $640 million expansion project. Other recent improvements, according to Massport, include faster airport-wide WiFi, a new real-time parking feature on its website, live music, and a partnership with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, which focuses on accessible and inclusive places for travelers disabilities.
The No. 1 ranked mega airport was Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport for the second year in a row, with a score of 660.
The J.D. Power study surveyed about 30,000 travelers between July 2024 and July 2025 from the U.S. or Canada who had traveled through at least one U.S. or Canadian airport during the past 30 days.
