Placido Hilukilwa OHANGWENA Regional Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa described the northern border town of Helao Nafidi as a vibrant hub of innovation, creativity, and collaboration. Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the Helao Nafidi Business Expo 2025, in a speech delivered on her behalf by Regional Council Chairperson Erickson Ndawanifa, Hamutumwa said that the expo is far more than a date on the calendar. “It is a celebration of collaboration, diversity, and progress. It unites exhibitors from various sectors and nations to showcase their creativity, heritage, and innovations, reflecting both national pride and international partnership,” she said. The border town of Helao Nafidi encompasses Oshikango, Omafo, Engela, Ohangwena, Onhuno, and the surrounding villages. At 72.23 square kilometres, it is geographically the second biggest town in the northern regions after Omuthiya (124.32 square kilometres). The 18th Helao Nafidi Business Expo was hosted from 31 October to 2 November — the shortest ever — but under a very ambitious theme, “Ignite the Future: Unearthing Youth Potential and Innovation at the Heart of Helao Nafidi Town – Our Border, a Hidden Treasure.” Said Hamutumwa: “As we walk through the exhibitions, let us open our minds to new ideas, embrace creativity, and celebrate the cultural richness that defines our nation.”
