“It was tough for all of us, and it was definitely hard seeing mum sick throughout that year,” Robey told The Age. “Going through something like that with your family at such a young age definitely matures you, especially me and my younger brother [Henry]. My older brother [Beck] had to step up in the house and do more, too. “Mum’s found her way out the other side, and she’s getting stuck into gym and loving her health and fitness – it’s really helped her. She’s read all the articles, and probably doesn’t love the attention, or the guilt story of her situation, but it’s a credit to her. She’s done a lot.” Robey’s football has come just as far as his physique.
