Nottingham Forest’s Ange Postecoglou provided an update on Ola Aina’s injury.
Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou expressed his disappointment over Ola Aina’s injury, stating that he was looking forward to working with the Nigerian.
What Postecoglou said
The former Celtic boss was recently hired as the Tricky Trees’ new manager. Following the exit of Nuno Espírito Santo. In a recent interview with Nottingham Forest radio, he gave an update on Aina’s injury, stating that the Nigerian had a successful surgery.
He said that he is a big fan of Aina from watching him last season and was keen on working with the Nigeria international.
“I was looking forward to working with him. I watched him as an opponent last year and, particularly with the way I like my full-backs to play, he was a perfect fit for it,” he said, per the BBC.
“I know he was excited by the season ahead, back in European football. Sometimes when these things happen early in the year, I said to him that the best part of the season will be there for him so he can make a massive impact when it is most needed.
“His surgery went really well – that’s the first thing ticked. Now he’s got to work hard and rehab, which I’m sure he will, and he’ll stay close to the group.”
Ola Aina’s injury
As Pulse Sports reported, Ola Aina is ruled out for three months due to a hamstring injury sustained during Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifier against South Africa. He underwent surgery after the injury, and as Postecoglou confirmed, the operation was successful.
