HBO and Sky legal thriller series War has rounded out its cast with some popular faces who are joining Dominic West (The Wire, The Crown), who plays tech titan Morgan Henderson, opposite Sienna Miller (Anatomy of a Scandal, American Sniper) as his estranged wife and international film star, Carla Duval. Celia Imrie (The Thursday Murder Club, The Diplomat) will guest star as Budgie, while Nick Mohammed (Slow Horses, Ted Lasso) has joined the cast as series regular Michael Stefanou, the partners said on Wednesday. Created by showrunner George Kay (Lupin, Hijack), directed by Ben Taylor (Sex Education, Catastrophe), and co-produced by All3Media’s New Pictures and Observatory Pictures, War received a two-season commitment from Sky and HBO. It follows two of London’s most prestigious rival law firms. Also added to War as series regulars are Shaheen Jafargholi (Lost Boys and Faries, The Agency season 2), Akiya Henry (Protection, Malice), Honor Swinton Byrne (The Souvenir, A Very Royal Scandal), Miles Jupp (The Full Monty, The Durrells), Kartanya Maynard (Heartbreak High, Deadlock), Alexandra Mardell (Smoggie Queens, The Family Pile), Mark Quartley (Inside Man, Cursed), and Steve Furst (I Fought The Law, A Gentleman in Moscow). Other guest stars announced on Wednesday include Rose Williams (Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, Sanditon), Camille Coduri (Big Boys, Rain Dogs), Mumsy Monroe, and Aran Murphy (Klara and the Sun). Previously unveiled cast members also include Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya, Pip Torrens and Archie Renaux. “War follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms — Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne — as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century,” says a synopsis. “Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s playing to win. This is just the beginning – season one’s explosive case is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles.” War will be available on HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. and stream on HBO Max in Australia and Asia. It will be on Sky and its streaming service Now in the U.K., Ireland, Italy and Sky and on Sky Deutschland’s streamer Wow in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. International sales of the series will be handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.
