Chilling CCTV footage has revealed the last moments of a teenage boy who was horrifically beheaded by his father after stumbling upon explicit photos of him eating faeces from a nappy whilst wearing lingerie. Dylan Redwine was reluctant to spend the Thanksgiving holidays in 2012 with his dad, Mark, but he had no other option. The court had mandated the visit and his mum, Elaine Hall, would face legal consequences if she didn't comply, so she begrudgingly sent her son on the trip to Durango, Colorado. However, the tragic day of November 18 2012 marked the final time Dylan was seen alive. Mark picked up Dylan from the airport, and CCTV footage showed minimal interaction between the two, a pattern that continued during their visit to a nearby Walmart. The last known sighting of Dylan alive is when they exit the shop that evening. According to Dylan's older brother, Cory, Dylan had wanted to stay the night at a friend's house, but Mark declined. As a result, they returned to his father's home. But while there, Dylan texted his friend that he would pop over around 6.30am the next day - one of the last known messages from the boy, reports the Daily Star . When Dylan didn't show up as expected, his friend became concerned and texted to check on him. Mark alleged that he had left the house on the morning of November 19 to run errands, only to return and find Dylan was nowhere to be seen. However, Dylan's mum refused to believe his story and immediately sensed that something terrible had occurred. Cory revealed that Dylan had confronted his father about disturbing images they had found the previous year on a laptop. The photographs showed Mark dressed in women's underwear and apparently consuming his own excrement from a nappy. Cory explained he had photographed the images at the time and replaced the laptop, telling his younger brother to keep quiet about it. But during his stay, Dylan had texted Cory saying: "Hey send me those poop pics of papa cause he gave a speech about you guyz being a bad example an I wanna show him what he really is." However, furious about being challenged over the photographs, Mark murdered his son in the sitting room, decapitated him, and abandoned his body in the wild for animals to consume. Strangely, the family later featured on the Dr Phil Show where Mark - who continued to protest his innocence - claimed he had faked the pictures because he knew his sons had been snooping around. Search warrants executed at Mark's property revealed traces of Dylan's blood in the sitting room area. A cadaver dog also identified the recent presence of a dead body in the same location and in the back of Mark's pickup truck. Several months later in June 2013, Dylan's initial partial remains were found roughly 8 miles away on Middle Mountain Road. Three years after the horrific crime, walkers discovered Dylan's skull approximately a mile-and-a-half further down the road. Forensic experts determined that Dylan had sustained stab wounds and died from sharp force trauma. During the trial, they testified that no wildlife would have transported a human skull such a distance from the rest of the body parts. Mark was eventually convicted of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death, charges he faced in 2017. In October 2021, he received a 48-year sentence for the murder - the maximum penalty allowed by law, which prosecutors had sought. Confronting her son's killer in court, Elaine Hall said: "Dylan was 13 years old when you took his life. When I think about what happened that night, it breaks my heart to think about Dylan looking up at his dad knowing he's his killer. "I wonder, what were you thinking then when you saw those big blue eyes? I don't even think that it fazed you. I'm just glad that we are free from you and that you will not be free to hurt us any more."
