Demons star Clayton Oliver has gone on an expletive-laden rant towards a journalist during an attempted airport doorstop on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Oliver was informed by the club in a fiery 12-minute meeting at 10am that he was no longer seen as a first-team player, and that if he was to stay, it would likely see him play in the VFL.
That is despite the fact that Oliver still has five years left on his $1.3m per year contract.

The 28-year-old was reportedly left shattered when implored to explore his options elsewhere, with the midfielder understood to have been excited for a fresh start under new Demons coach Steven King.
And arriving at the airport just hours later, he was in no mood to chat when Channel 7 attempted to stop him to ask about his future plans.
“Honestly, f— off, I don’t know how many times I’ve got to say it, mate,” an irate Oliver is heard saying.
“I’m going to Sydney on a holiday and then I’m going to America, got nothing to do with anything.”

More footage shot later of Oliver checking in his luggage saw the star fire up again, this time at Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
“I f***ing I hate that c*** he is a f***wit,” Oliver uttered.
That piece of footage was shared by 7News on social media before later being deleted.
His anger towards Cleary is largely down to a story he ran with earlier footage of him swearing at reporters in an article posted just after midday.
That piece drew a swift response from Oliver, who tagged Cleary in an Instagram story of himself playing a VFL game captioned “actually doesn’t look too bad on me”, in reference to the Casey jumper he was wearing.
It is understood that the Demons are willing to pay half of Oliver’s contract per year until the end of his current deal until 2030 to get him off their books.

Melbourne Demons address Clayton Oliver stance
Following news of the meeting with Oliver, Melbourne moved to clear up their position on their star man.
Oliver, who is now in the trade frame for a third straight season, met with list manager Tim Lamb and incoming coach Steven King about his role in the midfield.
He was informed he needed to “develop his craft beyond the midfield”.
Lamb said Oliver was clear on his position next year, but the club would understand and respect his decision to explore a trade elsewhere.
“Today was a good chance to sit down with Clayton and share how Steven and the coaches see the game being played and where the opportunities lie for him,” Lamb said.

The former AFL player has left fans hot under the collar after starring in a…
“We were upfront with Clayton around the role he is likely to play next season and the need for him to develop his craft beyond the midfield to have his biggest impact within the team.
“It was honest and respectful, and Clayton is now clear on what we see his role being next year and how we think he can best contribute.
“Clayton is contracted for another five years. If he wants to explore his options in the upcoming AFL trade period, we will respect that. Should he remain in the red and blue, we will, of course, continue to support and embrace him as part of our club.”
