Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, said that the Haryana Government is consistently working to modernize health facilities, promote voluntary blood donation, and ensure the quality of blood bank services in the state. He said the government is also committed to maintaining the highest standards of blood transfusion services so that every citizen can have timely access to safe blood.
The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration of the 50th Annual National Conference, ‘Golden Jubilee Transcon 2025’, organized by the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology (ISBTI) in Gurugram on Friday. Cooperation, Heritage & Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, MLA from Pataudi Smt. Bimla Chaudhary, MLA from Sohna, Sh. Tejpal Tanwar, and MLA from Gurugram, Sh. Mukesh Sharma were also present at the event.
Haryana creating a distinct identity in voluntary blood donation
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that presently, a total of 149 blood centers are operational in Haryana, with a target of collecting 3.3 lakh units of blood this year. He informed that as per the set targets, 2,22,433 units of blood have already been collected. He said Haryana is the land of soldiers, farmers, and youth. It is a matter of pride that the state has achieved a remarkable position where it stands as a leading hub of industry on one side, and on the other, it is also carving out a distinct identity in the field of voluntary blood donation.
Major reforms in Haryana’s health sector over the last 11 years
The Chief Minister said that the standard of healthcare services in Haryana has been consistently improving. In the last 11 years, the state has recorded major reforms in the health sector. Where earlier there used to be 30-bed hospitals, now 100-bed facilities are available. Similarly, hospitals with 100 beds have been expanded to 200 beds, and those with 200 beds have been expanded to 400 beds.
He said that the government is working at the grassroots level to ensure quality health services for every citizen. In 2014, only 700 doctors were trained annually in Haryana; today, this number has increased to 2,600 per year. The government’s target is to further increase this to 3,400 seats annually by 2029. For this, medical colleges are being established in every district so that youth get better opportunities and the healthcare system of the state achieves new heights.
The Chief Minister, referring to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s slogan ‘Fit India – Hit India,’ said that Haryana is moving ahead with this resolve. He added that if citizens are healthy, the pace of development of the state will also accelerate.
*Important role of IH and blood banks in society?
The Chief Minister said that as per presetnt needs, next-generation blood testing, AI-based blood matching, and research on artificial blood should be encouraged. He suggested that under the Digital Health Mission, mobile apps and web portals should be developed to track blood donation and transfusion. Alongside this, it is necessary to provide high-quality training to technicians and doctors associated with IH and blood transfusion.
He said IH and blood banks are the backbone of the health sector. They can save lakhs of lives. With the collective cooperation of the government, health organizations, and society, this sector can become safer, more advanced, and more effective in the future. He emphasized that regular blood donation, public awareness, and scientific research are important steps that will enable Haryana to reach new heights in blood donation and transfusion services.
Haryana Government fully committed to environmental protection under the Go Green initiative
The Chief Minister highlighted Transcon’s “Go Green” initiative, stating that the Haryana Government is fully committed to environmental protection. In this direction, the ‘ Ek ped Maa ke naam’ campaign is being run in the state, launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on World Environment Day last year. The aim of this campaign is to make every corner of Haryana green.
He informed that in the first phase of this campaign, 1.87 crore saplings were planted, while in the second phase the target is to plant 90 lakh saplings. In addition, this year under other schemes, another 1.20 crore saplings will be planted in the state. In total, a target of planting 2.10 crore saplings has been set.
The Chief Minister added that since October 2014, about 18 crore saplings have already been planted in Haryana, symbolizing the state’s seriousness and resolve towards environmental protection. On this occasion, doctors who made outstanding contributions in the health sector were also honored.
Enthusiasm for blood donation under Seva Pakhwada – Dr. Arvind Sharma
Co-operation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that under the Seva Pakhwada launched on the birthday of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, great enthusiasm for blood donation is being witnessed across the state. People are actively participating in blood and organ donation, setting an example of awareness and service spirit in society.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Government is continuously strengthening health services. Dialysis is now completely free of cost for kidney patients in all government hospitals of the state.
Dr. Arvind Sharma further said that the state government does not remain confined to mere announcements but fulfills its commitments on the ground. Today, 45 lakh families in the state are availing benefits under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Taking a step further, the government has also linked citizens above 70 years of age with Ayushman under the “Chirayu Yojana,” bringing great relief to eligible beneficiaries.

*Haryana Police Officers Directed to Strengthen Community Engagement and Address Public Grievances*
Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini today directed senior police officers across the state to intensify public outreach efforts and ensure faster resolution of citizen grievances.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the foundation of effective law enforcement lies in public trust. He said that every police officer, from Commissioner to DSP, must remain closely connected to the concerns of citizens. Increased interaction with villagers, youth, and local communities, he added, will be instrumental in addressing issues such as drug abuse and criminal activity.
Highlighting the importance of community presence, Chief Minister stated that maintaining open communication with residents and actively listening to their problems are core responsibilities of police personnel. He called for the adoption of a citizen-friendly policing model where prompt grievance redressal forms the backbone of law enforcement operations in the state.
To ensure effective implementation, Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, has issued detailed instructions to all senior police officials, including Commissioners of Police, Inspectors General, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police, and Assistant Commissioners/Deputy Superintendents of Police.
The directives mandates officers to conduct regular field visits, including mandatory overnight stays in villages, to strengthen their engagement with local communities. In addition, any complaints concerning other government departments must be promptly forwarded to Deputy Commissioners or relevant authorities for swift resolution. Officers are also required to submit comprehensive night halt reports through the Haryana Human Resources Management System (HRMS) application in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
To formalize citizen-police interaction, all officers must designate fixed office hours for public meetings. They are required to remain available in their offices from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on working days to listen to grievances and resolve them transparently.
The monitoring mechanism has also been strengthened. Officers will submit bi-weekly compliance reports to the Home Department. This initiative reflects Haryana’s commitment to building a more responsive and community-oriented policing system that prioritizes citizen welfare, strengthens accountability, and enhances public trust through direct engagement.
*Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh plants saplings in Hisar under Sewa Pakhwada*
Haryana Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that to promote environmental conservation, invitations should be sent through digital cards instead of paper-based ones. By doing so, we can save a large number of trees from being cut down every year and gift future generations a healthy life, he said.
Rao Narbir Singh was addressing people during a plantation programme organised under Sewa Pakhwada at Bhid in Hisar today. On this occasion, he also planted saplings to spread the message of environmental conservation. As part of the event, 1,500 saplings were planted, and publicity vehicles were flagged off.
He said that for living a healthy life, human beings need food, water, and air the most, but all three are continuously getting polluted. He further added that the government has launched several programmes to promote environmental conservation.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Every individual, under this campaign, should not only plant a sapling in but should also take care of it. A person feels emotionally connected with the sapling planted in their mother’s name. He also mentioned that 75 Namo Van will be developed in the state, out of which 3 will be established in Hisar district.
