Harry Maguire has urged Manchester United supporters to show patience with the ‘really young’ Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens. Sesko, 22, arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer in a huge deal worth £66.4million and £7.3m in add-ons. So far, the Slovenian forward has only been a bit part player, with Ruben Amorim preferring to use Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha ahead of him. The United boss is also slowly integrating 23-year-old goalkeeper Lammens, who arrived from Royal Antwerp for £18.2m including add-ons , into the side by sticking with Altay Bayindir. Many Reds fans have been itching to see Lammens enter the sticks, with Bayindir struggling this season. With United already falling behind their rivals, Maguire admitted it could be a while until fans see the best of Sesko, Lammens and the rest of United’s new signings. Speaking to Sky Sports , the ex-United captain, when asked about Sesko, said: “I think he’s going to be an excellent player for the club. He’s still young, he is really young. “I’m sure he is probably finding a lot of pressure on his shoulders already, because that is what happens when you play for this club. I think everyone needs to realise he is a young player. “He might take time to find his feet, but he’s got all the attributes, the physicality, the mentality to be a success at this club. I’ve been really impressed with him in training. His finishing is excellent. I believe he is going to score goals for this club for many years.” He then moved onto Lammens, who has equally impressed him in training. However, he quickly started talking about the shot-stoppers age, saying: “I’ve been so impressed with him in training. “I think he has all the fundamentals to be a really, really top class goalkeeper. He’s great with his feet, he’s a big presence, he’s a really great shot-stopper. “I think he’s got all the fundamentals to be excellent. Again he’s another young boy. He’s coming to such a big club with lots of pressure. But I know he will deal with it and I’m sure he’s going to have a long future at this club.” — Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
