DETROIT – The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters will bring their unrivaled brand of basketball entertainment to Little Caesars Arena on Jan. 24 as part of their 100 Year Tour, celebrating a century of global impact. Lucius “Too Tall” Winston, a versatile point guard and holder of four Guinness World Records, will be in Detroit on Monday, Nov. 17, to teach ball-handling skills and share knowledge with those in attendance. Winston is known for his outstanding dribbling and long-range shooting and aspires to set future world records. His basketball journey began at age three. Winston was a four-year starter and the 2008 Player of the Year at Russellville High School in Alabama, excelling in football and track. He played college basketball at Marion Military Institute and Tuskegee University, earning all-academic honors. The Harlem Globetrotters’ 100 Year Tour features never-before-seen basketball excitement and special features integrated into the game. The team will debut new 100-year jerseys designed by legendary fashion artist Jeff Hamilton, honoring a century of influence. Fans can expect surprises such as the Golden Basketball by Spalding®, epic pre-game Magic Pass experiences, and a 100 Year Souvenir Ticket. The Globetrotters will face their longtime rivals, the Washington Generals, in this reimagined season. The current team, composed of elite men and women, holds more than 60 Guinness World Records, including 18 set in 2024, the most of any team in any sport. The Globetrotters bring gravity-defying dunks and game-changing tricks to the court. Since 1926, the Harlem Globetrotters have been the originators of basketball style, showcasing their unique skill and athleticism to tens of millions in over 124 countries and territories across six continents. They are proud members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Globetrotters recently returned to network television with the Emmy-nominated NBC series “Harlem Globetrotters: Play it Forward,” also airing on Telemundo. Their brand partnerships include Spalding, Citi, Macy’s, and more. Known as Ambassadors of Goodwill since 1951, the Globetrotters leverage their platform for Corporate Social Responsibility efforts focused on health, education, and community empowerment.
