One lucky winner will get the choice between $1,000 a day for life or a one-time cash option of $7 million before taxes. Someone who recently bought a lottery ticket in Hampton won the top prize in the Nov. 9 Cash4Life drawing, according to the Virginia Lottery. The winning ticket was purchased at Aberdeen Food Mart at 933 Aberdeen Road, according to lottery officials. The ticket matched all six winning numbers: 3-8-18-20-22. The Cash Ball number was 4. So check your tickets, because the winner has yet to come forward. Whoever has the ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize. The Virginia Lottery advises before doing anything else, the winner should sign the back of the ticket to establish ownership. When the person is ready to claim the million-dollar prize, they should contact the Virginia Lottery. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 21.8 million. Hampton received more than $24.7 million in Virginia Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year. In fiscal year 2025, the lottery raised more than $901 million for K-12 education, making up approximately 10% of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget, according to lottery officials.
