And the Commodores made sure they wouldn’t repeat last season’s loss to Georgia State. Vanderbilt (4-0, 1-0 SEC) pounded its way to a 70-21 win and remain at No. 18. That was the most points Vandy has scored since 1918.

The Cougars (3-0) are 24th after traveling across the country to win at East Carolina 34-13. A 35-24 win over SMU in the 104th Battle for the Iron Skillet gave the Horn Frogs (3-0) the No. 25 spot.
Remember the Time: Week 4 was bittersweet for some teams. In addition to the final playing (for now) of the Battle for the Iron Skillet, some other rivalries that have been impacted because of conference realignment were reignited.
No. 4 Oregon (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) beat Oregon State 41-7 in the Civil War. Washington won the 117th Apple Cup over Washington State 59-24. The Apple Cup will continue next year. The Civil War currently isn’t on the books, but might return as soon as 2027.
Thriller: Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is no fluke. He was 17-for-27 passing for 307 yards and two touchdowns during Ole Miss’ 45-10 win over Tulane. The Ferris State transfer also ran for 112 yards on 14 carries.
