Half-conscious Hong Kong driver sent to hospital after car crashes into truck

A Hong Kong driver has been taken to hospital in a half-conscious state after he allegedly lost control of his private car and hit a truck parked by the road in Kwai Chung. Police said on Wednesday that the private car, with a personalised plate, was travelling along Tai Wo Hau Road towards Tsuen Wan. When he passed by Tai Wo Hau Estate in Kwai Chung, the man allegedly lost control and crashed into a heavy truck parked nearby. Constables and firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a report at 2.41am, and found the 33-year-old man trapped inside the car. The driver, surnamed Leung, was later rescued by firefighters. There were no visible wounds on him and he was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital while half-conscious. According to the force, there were no passengers in the car and the truck was unattended at the time of the accident. Local media reports showed that the private car involved was a white Mercedes-Benz AMG sports car. The vehicle’s front end was heavily damaged in the incident.
