Before Travis Kelce’s whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs star shared a years-long on-and-off relationship with model and sports broadcaster Kayla Nicole. From their first sparks in 2017 to their final split in 2022, Kelce and Nicole’s pairing blended NFL spotlight with influencer savvy, making them a fixture on red carpets and social feeds alike. Most recently, Nicole made headlines for dancing onstage with R&B artist Chris Brown. Here’s what went down and what she said about it afterward.
Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, danced onstage with Chris Brown
At Chris Brown’s “Breezy Bowl XX” tour stop at SoFi Stadium on Sept. 14, 2025, things got especially steamy when Kayla Nicole was invited onstage during his performance of “Take You Down,” according to TMZ. Nicole, the former partner of NFL star Travis Kelce, took a seat in a red chair and was serenaded as Brown pulled her in for a lap dance, pushing her against the chair, grinding, even wrapping her legs around him. The visual moment was ramped up when Brown also placed his hand gently around her neck and leaned in toward a kiss. The stadium screen cut to black just before any definite connection.
The incident came on the heels of Kelce’s engagement to Taylor Swift in late August, adding fuel to public commentary. And some fans expressed their disappointment in Nicole, given Brown’s past with domestic violence. However, other fans supported Nicole for providing a viral moment.
“She won,” a fan commented on Reddit. “She’s the only person who’s killed it during the tour during the song. She understood the assignment.”
Kayle Nicole addressed the viral stunt on social media
Kayla Nicole took to Instagram to address the viral Chris Brown moment. She posted a reel of her concert experience with Brown’s song, “Ain’t No Way (You Won’t Love Me).” The reel included moments of her onstage dancing and her happily dancing back to her seat afterward.
“Well, that was fun,” she captioned the post. “Had to really do it for the teenage me blasting CB in her bedroom. For the mini me who saw him at one of her first concerts. For the woman who sometimes feels like she has to be a monolith instead of multi-layered. I did it for the smart girls, the cool girls, the sexy girls, the fun girls — for all of us who are all of those things at once. And I OVERLY did it for my brown girls, tthhhhaankya.”
Nicole also reposted a reel from her sister, Layla. The reel shows Layla responding to someone asking where her sister is while in the concert audience.
“She’s on the stage with Chris Breezy,” Layla responds while pointing to the stage, where her sister can clearly be seen with Brown.
Kayla Nicole has no interest in publicly commenting on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s engagement. The Daily Mail asked Nicole about the engagement at a House of Champion event co-hosted by Sports Illustrated as part of New York Fashion Week in September 2025.
“Oh, no, no, no,” Nicole responded. “But I’m really happy to be here at Champion, though! This is a dope party,” she continued, not addressing her ex.
She also addressed the possibility of dating other athletes in the future. “Gosh, I don’t have any celebrity crushes,” she admitted, adding that she had “met so many” athletes in the past that they don’t seem like celebrities to her anymore. Nicole then verified that she’s single and open to meeting men who are interested in pursuing her.
